Steel Cut Oats vs Rolled Oats vs Quick Oats
Hey! Guys In this article I will tell you which is better steel cut oats or rolled and instant oats? Oats are the easiest and the healthiest food option. For our breakfast, lunch or dinner. It takes very less time to cook. At the same time, it provides us with all the required nutrients for the day. That is why it is one of the most favorite foods of our generation. There are three types of oats available in the market Steel cut Oats, Rolled oats and Instant Oats. Oats are the great source of fiber as It is a whole grain source. It is low in calories. Good source of protein. The nutritional value may vary. Depending on the brand. Oats are naturally gluten free in their purest form but, people who have to avoid gluten they should specifically search for gluten-free oats. Because some brands can contain gluten due to its different processing method.
Steel cut oats: Steel cut oats are least process oats due to which it is much healthier than any other oats variety. These oats are made by the whole groat into smaller pieces and it has a chewy texture. Steel-cut oats high in vitamins E, B-1 and B-2. Steel-cut oats may have a lower glycemic index than rolled or quick oats. Which controls the sugar spike in your body and maintains your blood sugar level and also helps in weight loss. These oats contain the high fiber than any other form of oats which makes it perfect for weight loss because it keeps you full for longer period of time as it takes time to digest. These oats take time to cook (Approx 15-20 minutes). steel-cut oats contain calcium, iron, and potassium. Iron is good to increase your red blood cells. Potassium blood pressure, cardiovascular health, bone strength, good kidney function. It lowers your LDL (the bad cholesterol).
Rolled oats: Or we also call it old fashioned oats. These oats are also whole oats firstly they steamed them and make it soft. Then rolled to flatten them to a certain thickness. This process makes it faster to cook. Rolled Oats will only take 6-7 minutes to cook but during this process, its nutritional value decreases a little.
Instant oats: These oats are most processes oats amongst all three variant and due to this its nutritional values also decreases more than rest of the two. They fully cooked, cut, dry rolled and presses them. This process makes them much easier to cook and it also takes very less time to cook (about 2-3minutes) that is why we call it quick or instant oats.

High Protein Weight Loss Dinner Recipe INGREDIENTS:
- ½ Cup Steel cut oats
- 150grm Mushroom
- 2 medium size tomato(puree)
- 1 & a half TBSP coconut oil(or any other oil of your choice)
- Cumin seeds
- 5-6 garlic cloves
- Green chilli
- One large onion
- Pink Himalayan salt
- Coriander powder
- Garam Masala powder
Mushroom: They are the rich source of protein and fiber. It is also a low-fat food. This makes it perfect for weight loss. It is vitamin D rich food. Vitamin D deficiency also you stagnate weight problem so including mushroom in your diet is a good idea to provide vitamin D to your body naturally. Eating mushrooms also help increase your water intake and this as it contains high water content.
Firstly prepare the steel cut oats separately. Now take a pan & put oil in it. Then add cumin seeds in when seeds start Crackling. Then put ginger, garlic and green chili. After cooking it for a while, mix onion pink Himalayan salt, all the spices to it and again cook it for some time. Then add mushroom to it and cook it until mushroom gets cooked. Now it’s time to add tomato puree and again after cooking it for some time add a cup of water (or according to your desired consistency). Let it boil and then mix our precooked oats in it mix it well for few seconds. Turn off the flame and our weight loss recipe is ready to serve.
